Well here is my story!
I am an 18 year old female who has just finished school and extremely ready and excited to take off and see that big wide world awaiting.
My trip shall begin end of April start of May. I am leaving Sydney and flying to Thailand. There I am teaching English and volunteering in a school in North Thailand for a few weeks. From there crossing the boarder to Laos and making my way down for a few weeks. Next off to the islands of Thailand. In about early July I am flying to India and travelling there for a month. At the start of August i am flying to Athens and going to find a job in a bar in the Greek Islands for the summer. At the start of October I will be heading to either Mexico or South America and travelling and volunteering in SA until Feb the next year when reality will hit and it will be time to bring my extremely broke ass home.
So here are my questions
1. After much research I am thinking one world will be the way to go ticket wise. Either that or STA. (What are your thoughts?)
2. I am familiar with travelling in South East Asia however I am aware India will be a whole new ball game. Can anyone recommend a safe yet adventurous mini trip including all the highlights for one month in India.
3. Those who have worked at any of the islands in Greece how easy were it to get work. (I am not looking to save just enough to support my time there.)
4. The big one is my time in Central and South America. I will only have 5 months and realise you could spend many years travelling here but unfortunately uni waits. Those who have spent plenty of time in these countries could you suggest any possible routes for me. I would love to fly to Mexico and then ride the billion hour bus down to Lima where I want to begin a tour for a couple of months in SA. Research has shown that you can catch a bus for around 100 dollars. (I will be low on cash). Problem is that including Mexico which I really want to see will push my airfare up quite a lot. Any suggestions???
So there you have it! I just can't wait to try something different and to test myself. Due to my age I am in an awkward period where I have so many sides to me (hippie, party animal and the want to save the world or at least do my part in the world side). So I tried to plan a trip that has a bit of everything in it and too work hard, play hard and live hard.
